Removing Plastic Protection from Glass Doors

Items Required:

Exacto Knife or Razor Blade

Plastic protection is applied to most of our glass doors in order to reduce the risks of stains that can dirty the glass. Please remove the plastic protection once your door has been completely finished.

Instructions:

  1. Trace the perimeter of the glass as close to the wood moulding as possible using an Exacto knife or a razor blade. Turn the utensil at a 45-degree angle. Its tip should be turned toward the junction of the glass panel and moulding. Do not use the utensil to make any mark in the center of the glass in order to remove the plastic. Direct contact of the knife or blade on the glass could result in scratching it. For patterned glass the plastic protection would best be removed using a razor blade due to the unevenness of the surface.
  2. Do not use the utensil to make any mark in the center of the glass in order to remove the plastic. Direct contact of the knife or blade on the glass could result in scratching it. 3. Remove the plastic protection.
  4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 for the other side of the door.
